World Yoga Day in our school

 Gangarampur High School, Dakshin Dinajpur, 2nd June 2020: Our school celebrated World Yoga Day yesterday in the school auditorium.  The program started at 11 a.m. with meditation.  Students and teachers took part in this program.  A seminar was organized where teachers and expert uyghur practitioner talk on the importance of yoga for the unity of mind and body.  Many of the students displayed many yogic feats which make everyone happy.  In addition to the students, many parents came to the event to inspire their children.  The day became successful in every way.  The expert yoga teacher inspired the students to make yoga a part of their lifestyle.

 Dakshin Dinajpur, August 6: Our school launched 'Safe Drive, Save Life' campaign in the locality with all seriousness.  The students marched in the streets and appealed to the drivers to be more responsible. They also arranged at Street corners and staged street drama on this issue.  That is how they drew the attention of the passer-by to their programmes.  In the words of Srija Sen, a student of the school, “we want to make the common people aware of the importance of driving safely.  We know that we must continue to campaign extensively in this regard. ”  This publicity caused great excitement in the area.  Students believe that safe driving can greatly reduce road accidents.

How are  you?  I hope your preparation for the Madhyamik examination is going well.  Today I received your letter.  I am very happy to know your plans for the holidays.  Rajasthan is a beautiful place, I hope you will have a very wonderful experience.  I am sorry to say that I have no such plans.  But sitting at home idly I don’t want to waste my time.  So I am thinking of joining  a computer course.  Almost everything is computerised nowadays.  I am sure this course will be beneficial for my future.  Some of my friends are planning to join a foreign language class.  I also think I will be admitted.

 Dakshin Dinajpur, 16 August 2018: ‘Mission Nirmal Bangla of the State Government’ was celebrated in our school with importance.  The week-long program, which started on August 8, was aimed at keeping the school and adjoining areas clean and tidy.  Various programs like child cabinet formation, proper hand washing system, debates, seminars, processions, quiz competitions and sit-and-draw-competitions are organized.  Numerous students, teachers and local panchayat representatives took part in this program with great interest.  the students in rallies wearing playcards, posters urged people to maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation for health and hygiene. The program created a tremendous impact on all.

দর্শনের স্বরূপ সম্পর্কে কয়েকজন বিখ্যাত পাশ্চাত্য দার্শনিকের অভিমত অথবা বিভিন্ন দার্শনিক প্রদত্ত দর্শনের সংজ্ঞা : 

1. (a) প্লেটো (Plato):  “ দর্শন হল বস্তুসত্তার জ্ঞান, যা নিত্য, অপরিবর্তনীয় ও শাশ্বত”। (Philosophy is the Knowledge of reality, of being as such, of that which is ; it is the knowledge of the universal, unchangeable, eternal.)

 (b) প্লেটো (Plato): “ দর্শনের লক্ষ্য হল নিত্যের এবং বস্তুর মূলস্বরূপের জ্ঞানলাভ করা”। (Philosophy aims at the knowledge of the eternal of the essential nature of things.)

 2.  অ্যারিস্টটল (Aristotle):  “ সত্তা স্বরূপত যা তার অনুসন্ধান করে যে বিজ্ঞান তাই হল দর্শন ” / “দর্শন সত্তাকে সত্তা হিসাবেই পর্যালােচনা করে"। ( Philosophy is the Science which investigated the nature of being as it is in itself. ) / "দর্শন হলো বিশুদ্ধ সত্তার জ্ঞান” ( Philosophy is the science being qua being.) 

3. কান্ট (Kant): " দর্শন হল জ্ঞান সম্পর্কীয় বিজ্ঞান ও তার সমালােচনা" । ( Philosophy is the sciencei and Criticism of Cognition.) / "দর্শন হল বিচারমূলক শাস্ত্র"।

4. হার্বাট স্পেনসার (Herbert Spencer) : “ দর্শন হল বিভিন্ন বিজ্ঞানের সমন্বয় । বিজ্ঞান আংশিকভাবে ঐক্যবদ্ধ জ্ঞান , আর দর্শন হল সামগ্রিকভাবে ঐক্যবৎ জ্ঞান ”। (Philosophy is the Synthesis of the Science.)

5.  ফিকটে (Fichte): “দর্শন হল জ্ঞান সম্পর্কীয় বিজ্ঞান।” (Philosophy is the Science of knowledge.))

6. পলসন (Paulsen): “দর্শন হল সকল বৈজ্ঞানিক জ্ঞানের সমষ্টি বা সমন্বয়”। (Philosophy is the sumetotal of all Scientific Knowledge.)

 

7.  কোত (Conte) : “ দর্শন হল সকল বিজ্ঞানের সেরা বিজ্ঞান "। (Philosophy is the Science of Sciences.)

 

8. পেরি  (Perry) : “দর্শন আকস্মিক কিছু নয়, অলৌকিক নয়, বরং অনিবার্য ও স্বাভাবিক”। (Philosophy is neither accidental nor supematural, but inevitable and nomal.)

9. মারভিন (Marvin):  “ দর্শন হল সত্যানুরাগ / দর্শন হল এমনই এক সত্যের প্রতি অনুরাগ যা জ্ঞানের ভান্ডারকে পুরনো করে " (Philosophy is love for truth - the complete body of knowldege that includes in its all truths.) 

10. এয়ার(Ayer):  "দর্শন হল ভাষার সমালােচনা"। (Philosophy is the Criticism of language. ) 

11. বার্ট্রান্ড রাসেল (Bertrand Russell): “দর্শন হল সকল বিজ্ঞানের মূলভিত্তির যৌকিক বা বিচারমূলক আলোচনা"। (Philosophy is the logical study of the foundations of the Science. )

 

12. ভুন্ড (Wundt) : “দর্শন হল বিভিন্ন বিজ্ঞানলব্ধ জ্ঞানের সুষম একত্রীকরণ”। (Philosophy is the unification of knowledge obtained in the special Sciences in a consistent whole. )

13. হেগেল (Hegel): "দর্শন হল পরম সচেতন সত্তা সম্পর্কিত তাত্ত্বিক আলােচনা”। (Philosophy is the theoretical discussion about the absolute conscious self.)

The poem "Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer's Day?"   is a sonnet.

 Here the poet  is William Shakespeare.

 Here the poet speaks of his handsome friend Mr.  W.H., who is probably the landlord of Southampton.

 * The poet compares his handsome friend to a summer's day.  He says that his friend is  more beautiful and restrained than the beauty of summer day.  Summer is transient, and finally disappears.  But his friend's beauty is not transient.  No natural change, time and death can fade the beauty of his friend, as the poet has immortalized him in the eternal lines of his sonnet.
